First Post!

Well the holidays are over.  For 2009 I did 22 Christmas boxes for women in the South Carolina Dept of Corrections.  The boxes have to be ordered through SCDC via Access Securepak.   I ordered socks, thermals, bras, panties, and food items.  That is all they will allow.  I have started a writing campaign to get them to add things like deodorant, shampoo, conditioner and other personal hygiene items.  It would be a huge help to the inmates.  The stuff they provide in their is horrible.  It breaks you out and is strong enough to clean toilets with.  I have received so much mail, so many thank you letters.  My name and address have gotten around the system in there and I get mail from people who I don't even know.  I don't really mind it though.  I try to help everyone who contacts me.  Sometimes they just want someone to correspond with, so that they don't feel so isolated in there.  I do what I can.  If I can't send them any money or anything I let them know up front.  I feel very blessed to be able to help as many people as I do.  I hope to do even more.  That is why I am starting this website.
